Who We Are
We are the Debrie Family - and we run Tree House Blooms, a small family flower farm in Caledonia, MI (zone 5b/6a). What started as a veggie garden that no one got excited about turned in to a few dahlia tubers that became beautiful additions to our home, and eventually our collection started overtaking our lawn!
We focus on mainly dahlias, but grow filler flowers too so we can have our own fresh flowers in our own home and for others to enjoy. We mainly sell the stems wholesale to florists for the cut flowers and have a tuber sale in the fall (spring restock) with mostly spring shipping. It’s been really fun to see brides enjoy our blooms as a part of one of their happiest days! We’re also members of the West Michigan Dahlia Society and the American Dahlia Society, and participated in our very first dahlia show this summer.
All dahlias are sold as individual tubers that will grow into a beautiful plant - most ranging from three to seven feet tall. Dahlias are considered annuals in most cold climates, but can be dug up in the fall to make many more dahlias and save for the next year. There are many different methods to storing and growing in different climates and settings, but staking and support is always a good idea for these flowers.
